Dallas Blog: Defending Big D

Detroit enters tonight’s game coming off of a big win against Carolina, in what was one of the more entertaining games of the year. Dylan Larkin was flying, and the team looked energetic all night.

Evgeny Svechnikov was back in the lineup, and we got to see a glimpse of what could be when he temporarily played on a line with Michael Rasmussen and Anthony Mantha. That was a big line, and it would have been nice to see them play more together.

Dallas got off to a great start this year, but they are hovering around .500 and are only a few points ahead of Detroit. At the same time, they have five games in hand on the Red Wings because of their shutdown due to COVID, so their position in the Central is deceiving.

They put up 7 goals on Detroit the last time the two teams played, but Detroit should do better this game based on how they’ve been playing. The key word there is “should.”
