We don’t have much on Pasquale Zito, that’s because he plays in the OHL, which ceased all operations amid the coronavirus pandemic. Zito had an OK rookie season with the Windsor Spitfires, just 13 points in 46 games, in what you could imagine were very limited minutes. Steve Yzerman’s staff must have had a close eye on him during his extended offseason.

Pasquale Zito wasn’t picked up by any of the independent scouting services, but the NHL’s CSS has him ranked 135th among North American Skaters.

That essentially wraps up the 2021 NHL Draft for the Detroit Red Wings. Maybe not as exciting as people wanted, but it seems like Steve Yzerman is shifting his mindset from “more kicks at the can” to “let’s take a risk.” With virtually no film to review on Zito, who knows if this is a stretch at 166th overall, but it’s a good position to take one.
