Detroit — Goaltender Alex Nedeljkovic made the highlight reel for the rest of time.
Nedeljkovic attempted to bat away a bouncing puck, and wound up knocking the puck through his legs at 12 minutes 7 seconds of the first period, giving Minnesota a 2-1 lead.
