One year after onset of COVID, Red Wings reflect on the ‘long grind’ – MLive

One year ago today, the Detroit Red Wings lost to the Carolina Hurricanes 5-2 at Little Caesars Arena in what turned out to be their final game of 2019-20. They practiced the next day and flew to Washington. Hours before their scheduled game against the Capitals, the NHL season was paused due to COVID-19. The league hasn’t been the same since.

Time flies when everything is a neverending whirlwind of shit.

I still haven’t moved all the way to streaming for the silly simple reason that the streaming delay means I see goals on Twitter before I see them “live” and that bugs me. No idea how long before all the regionals change and screw me up or what it’s goign to mean to the packages I have to own to get all of the Red Wings games, but oh well. NBCSN sucks.
