Detroit gets their rematch against the Panthers after being socked in the mouth on Tuesday by a team that outjumped them. Florida took just 17 seconds to score their first goal of Tuesday’s game and had the game-winner in the Detroit net before the intermission.

Unfortunately for the Panthers, their injury problems also worsened, as Anthony Duclair banged up his shoulder pretty hard flying in on the Wings’ net and getting tripped by Thomas Greiss. Panthers coach Joel Quenneville told media yesterday Duclair is expected to miss 7-10 days.

Speaking of which, we’re not sure whether Greiss is getting the net back or whether Calvin Pickard will once again get the start after having been pulled more-recently. I’d ride out Pickard, but really I just want Bernier back as soon as possible.

Also, while we’re talking goalies, the Panthers just signed Spencer Knight to his ELC. Knight was the 13th overall pick in 2019. That won’t affect us right now as I doubt he’s got time to get ready for his first NHL shutout just yet.

In other roster moves, the Panthers called up D-Man Brady Keeper to the Taxi Squad yesterday. They went 11-7 on Tuesday and finished the game with 10 forwards. Not sure how their lines will shake out just yet. We’ll keep an eye out at the team’s morning skate and offer what we can in GDU.
