Red Wings host Philadelphia Flyers in Matinee Matchup

Octopus Thrower

The Detroit Red Wings play the second game of a mini-series against the Philadelphia Flyers today.  The Red Wings won the first game 6-3 on Wednesday night in Philadelphia.

Game time today is 12:00 PM ET at LCA in Detroit, MI.

Player Focus: Robby Fabbri

Robby Fabbri has been one of the biggest steals of the Steve Yzerman Era.  Fabbri was traded by St. Louis to Detroit for Jacob de la Rose on November 7, 2019.

Since the trade, the 26-year-old Fabbri has played 128 games for Detroit, recording 37 goals and 73 points.

Currently playing on the 2nd line with junior teammates Pius Suter and Tyler Bertuzzi, the trio are currently playing like a #1B line.  The top two lines are carrying the Red Wings, and with the addition of Jakub Vrana in the next couple of weeks, the Red Wings are going to have depth on the forward lines that has been missing for several years.

Set to become an UFA in the summer, the Red Wings recently signed Fabbri to a three-year extension for $4M annually.  His extension keeps Fabbri in a Detroit uniform until at least the end of the 2025 season.
