After dropping their last six games, the Red Wings are back at home and looking to upset one of the best teams in hockey- the Boston Bruins.

The Detroit Red Wings have been struggling to a point in which it’s become hard to watch. As a Red Wings fan, seeing a team perform this bad- it’s pretty unbearable to watch. However, for every downhill, there is always a uphill- and tonight they will be looking to make their climb back up.

Now, it’s no secret that the Boston Bruins are favored, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t beatable. I mean, the Bruins have 20 regulation losses this season, and to add onto that, they have five overtime losses. So, they are beatable, it just takes a good game-plan and a team that is hungry for a win.

So, now that I said that, here’s how I feel the Red Wings and Blashill should game-plan for the game tonight.

The Boston Bruins are a smart and very physical team. They will look to use guys like Brad Marchand and Charlie McAvoy in a way that gets in people’s heads.

Marchand is known for his chirping that can get under peoples skin, and when that inevitably happens, he can generally take them mentally out of the game. McAvoy on the other hand is one of the more aggressive defenseman in hockey and will not shy away from any hit. In fact, he will be actively seeking people to lay out.

When Marchand and McAvoy do those things, it really gets into people’s heads and under their skin giving them the edge. That’s where their talent comes into play.

With guys like Taylor Hall, Patrice Bergeron, David Pastrnak they are going to be able to score. I mean, if you think that you can shut them out, then your setting yourself for failure. However, what you can do is mirror their approach.

Charlie McAvoy plays a style very similar to our very own, Moritz Seider. So when Marchand comes into the O-zone, let Seider have his way with Marchand. Go lay some hits on those playmakers and get under their skin. When you do that, that’s where you can create potential cherry picking chances and breakway chances using the speed of Larkin or Raymond.

Now, I’m not saying this is a flawless game-plan. I’m not even saying that this would work, but you have to try to do something if you want to win this game… That is something.

So, now that we got that out of the way, let’s take a look at the lines we could potentially see tonight against the Bruins.
