Detroit Red Wings’ Lucas Raymond has goal, two assists in 3-0 win in Chicago in preseason

Lucas Raymond had a goal and two assists, all in the third period, as the Detroit Red Wings beat the Blackhawks, 3-0, the Wings’ fourth preseason game on Saturday in Chicago.

Alex Nedeljkovic stopped all 14 shots he faced over the first two periods. Sebastian Cossa made seven saves in the third period to preserve the shutout.

Early in the third period, Lucas Raymond picked up the loose puck in the Chicago zone, fought through traffic to the slot and then backhanded a pass to Vrana, who fired a shot from right circle for the game’s first goal at 1:44.

About 10 minutes later, Raymond hit Dylan Larkin, who skated in on net and beat Blackhawks goalie Andrew Stalock and scored to take a two-goal lead.

At 14:29 of the period, Raymond gained the zone on the left side, then fired a shot from the left circle for the Wings’ third goal. Vrana and Moritz Seider had the assists.

Detroit was 0-for-4 on the power play, held the Blackhawks scoreless on three man-advantages. The Wings had 16 takeaways to Chicago’s 10 and blocked nine shots (Jordan Oesterle with three) compared to the Blackhawks’ five.
