The Detroit Red Wings are coming off of a tough loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning, where Andrei Vasilevskiy pretty much stole the show. They will likely be without Michael Rasmussen for the next two games and further as they await a further update.
The Detroit Red Wings are heading to Ottawa for a back-to-back set with the Senators. With a rescheduled game added into the mix, the Red Wings will play the Senators at their barn on back-to-back nights.
It’s four points up for grabs that could very well help the Red Wings move up the standings. They are firmly entrenched in a battle for a Wildcard spot. They currently are one point back of Pittsburgh and three points back of the New York Islanders.
The Red Wings should be hoping to come away from this two-game set in possession of a Wildcard spot. Ottawa is lower in the standings with just 60 points on the season. They could become a problem if they take points away from the Red Wings and clog up the Wildcard race even more.

The Senators are 6-3-1 in their last ten and will likely be riding the backs of Alex DeBrincat, Shane Pinto, and Brady Tkachuk. Pinto, a former product of the North Dakota Fighting Hawks program of the NCHC, has settled in nicely with Ottawa, being able to find the back of the bet and be a playmaker in the offensive zone.
The Red Wings should be able to rely on their offense, with Ottawa’s goaltending being nothing to write home about. But the Red Wings will likely have to play Magnus Hellberg in one of these contests. It’s a very winnable set of games; the Red Wings have to get their offense going and stay in control of the Senators’ weapons up front.

The over has a -105 payout, and the under has a -115 payout.
Prediction: The Detroit Red Wings are hoping to keep reading the highs of a post-season run, and that will likely mean that they need to come away with all four points against the Senators to help their cause. I like Detroit to take things home with a win in Ottawa’s barn. The Red Wings’ offense was stymied against Tampa Bay, but I think this will be a good bounce-back game for Detroit.
