The Detroit Red Wings have dropped their last three games. They got a heavy dose of eastern conference playoff hockey in a way, and the Red Wings kool-aid went through the system real fast.
Last week it felt like the Detroit Red Wings were surging toward a 2022-23 postseason appearance, looking to clinch a Wildcard spot. After Andrei Vasilevskiy shut them out, and Ottawa had their way with them in two back-to-back games, the Red Wings season has a much different outlook.
The trade deadline is tomorrow, and the team is likely to shift gears from being a cautious buyer into becoming a seller. They take on the Seattle Kraken in a game that could be the last chance to showcase some players in the lineup that might hold some value for the team at the deadline.
The Red Wings are taking on the Kraken and were recently handed a 4-2 loss by Seattle on their lengthy road trip. Now, Detroit is looking to get two points on home ice against the Kraken and snap their three-game skid.
Detroit Red Wings game information and prediction vs. Kraken
Fresh off of his massive eight-year contract extension, Detroit Red Wings captain Dylan Larkin will be looking for a big game. He’s played exceptionally well for Detroit this season, and even amid a three-game losing streak, expect Larkin to come out strong.
Seattle is 4-5-1 in their previous ten games, getting back in the win column with a recent win against the Blues on Tuesday night. They are hoping that the likes of Matty Beniers and Jordan Eberle can continue to get it done offensively.

Odds: According to DraftKings, both teams have a -110 payout on the Moneyline, with early bets favoring the Kraken, getting 60% of those placed on DraftKings. The Kraken are the favorite on the Puck Line, with a -245 payout at +1.5. The Red Wings have a +205 payout, being -1.5 on the Puck Line. The over/under is currently set at 6.5. The over has a +100 payout, and the under has a -120 payout.
Prediction: The Red Wings have a chance to get back in the win column here. After two rough games in Ottawa, I’m hopeful that the Red Wings come out strong and can set the tone early on home ice. I like the Red Wings to take this one. With Larkin getting his extension, I’d check out some of the prop bets pre-game and see if there’s value in Larkin for over on points or maybe even Larkin for a goal. Worth considering, as he might just come out and play well without the looming contract extension cloud above him.
