The Detroit Red Wings stayed busy into the evening as NHL free agency began Saturday, also adding Shayne Gostisbehere.

The 30-year-old defenseman agreed to a one-year deal worth $4.125 million. Earlier on the first day of free agency, the Wings signed right-shot defenseman Justin Holl. Gotisbehere adds to the left-side defense on a depth chart that already includes Ben Chiarot, Olli Määtta, Jake Walman, and that could get a push in training camp from 2021 first-round pick Simon Edvinsson.

Gostisbehere is a veteran of 538 NHL games.
