The Detroit Red Wings are getting ready for the2023-24 season. While the puck has already dropped and Connor Bedard faced off with Sidney Crosby on Tuesday night in Hockeytown, the festivities start on Thursday.

The long-awaited time has finally come. The Detroit Red Wings will get ready to embark on their 82-game slate, taking on the 2023-24 season with a full head of steam. After a long off-season of making moves, the Red Wings are ready to go.

The team will open up their season with two tough divisional games, kicking off the battles in the Atlantic Division. They start things against the fiery New Jersey Devils before taking off for Detroit to play host to the perennial competitor, the Tampa Bay Lightning.

For Detroit, it will be a nice test to start things off, but more importantly, the teams’ fans have to be excited to see how things go for their new crop of talent. The Red Wings will see how the team they have assembled can perform as they get underway.

On top of that, they were able to make some moves during free agency and a late trade to acquire a hometown player, helping round out their roster.

After an interesting Prospect Tournament and training camp, the Red Wings have their roster that they will take into battle for the 2023-24 season. With hopes being high for the Red Wings, it will be interesting to see how things work out for Detroit.

While Steve Yzerman has made it clear that he is not focused solely on the playoffs, the Red Wings are surely hoping that they can get back to the postseason. It’s been a long road, but it feels like the team might be able to turn a corner this year and finally get back to the playoffs with a chance to contend.

They will have their own uphill battles, and it could be interesting to see how things shake out when it’s all said and done, but the season is upon us once again. Fans, lock in and get ready for another season of Red Wings hockey.
