Detroit Red Wings fans… today is the day. Game 1 is upon us. The Detroit Red Wings are out east, getting ready for their opening night clash with the New Jersey Devils at the Prudential Center. The Red Wings faithful must be chomping at the bit to see their team take the ice.

After a long summer, the Detroit Red Wings are finally ready to hit the ice. Their roster is set; the 22 players they are heading into battle with this season is set. Things may change over time, but the opening night roster is set.

The Red Wings will take on the Devils, who are looking to come out and make a statement this year as well. Both teams are going to compete in the Eastern Conference. The Devils are younger, with some firepower and a good core of players that they have been building around.

It will be a fun test to see how things go on night one for the Red Wings. After all, the Red Wings have spent a long time going through the off-season and spending their time tuning things up for this year with plenty of new faces amongst the roster, but it feels like the team has really made some strides and is ready to keep making jumps.

Detroit Red Wings game information and prediction vs. Devils

With it being the season’s first game, who knows exactly what to expect? But the Red Wings are hoping that their new guys can step up and the usual suspects can continue the success that they have shown in past seasons.

Red Wings captain Dylan Larkin is ready to lead his team into the 2023-24 season and hopefully kick things off on the right foot. The Red Wings have a long road ahead as part of their 82-game slate that makes up the upcoming regular season.

Game: Detroit Red Wings (0-0-0) v.s. New Jersey Devils (0-0-0)

When: Thursday, October 12th

Time: 7:30 PM ET

Where: Prudential Center

Where to Watch: Bally Sports Detroit/ESPN+

Odds: According to DraftKings, the Detroit Red Wings are the underdog in this one, with a +210 payout on the Moneyline. The Devils have a -258 payout on the Moneyline as the favorite. The Devils are the “favorite” on the Puck Line at -1.5 with a -115 payout. The Red Wings are -1.5 with a -105 payout. The over/under is set at 6.5. The over/under both have a -110 payout.

Prediction: Looking at the line, it was a bit shocking to see the Detroit Red Wings not being the favorite on either the Moneyline or Puck Line. This one might turn into a high-scoring event, with some offense on both sides that can do some damage. Also, I’m banking on newcomer Alex DeBrincat being solid in his first regular-season game with Detroit. That said, I’m picking Red Wings Moneyline and also would consider some Alex DeBrincat prop bets on points over/under.

Game odds refresh periodically and are subject to change.
