Winging It In Motown

Red Wings’ Joe Veleno confident time in Sweden will help his NHL career – Detroit News

“There’s potential that he could play games for us this year,” coach Jeff Blashill said. “Do I know that for a fact? No. There’s certainly the potential he could, it’s something I’ll discuss with (general manager) Steve (Yzerman) and, ultimately, it’s important to get looks at certain guys so Steve and his management team will determine which guys are going to be guys that we want to get experience in the NHL with.”

Pretty solid discussion from Kulfan on Veleno’s experience, the difference between NA and Europe and the outlook. Recommend the whole thing.

Three Avs games postponed; North Division schedule update – NBC

As of the latest update, Joonas Donskoi joined Bowen Byram and Philipp Grubauer as the Avalanche players on the NHL COVID-19 protocol list. Byram was added last Friday, while Grubauer was placed there before Wednesday’s win over the Blues.

Getting more and more likely the playoff seedings are determined by points percentage. At this point (from the outside looking in), that doesn’t bother me a bit.
