Dylan Larkin’s confidence soaring with recent offensive surge for Red Wings – Detroit News

One thing last season did teach Larkin was controlling only what a person can control, and attempting to let go of the stuff you can’t.

Now a studio analyst for the “NHL on TNT,” Gretzky has said multiple times he is rooting for Ovechkin to break his record. He told The New York Times that if Ovechkin goes a few games without scoring, he will send him encouraging texts.

“I’m his biggest fan,” Gretzky said.

It would certainly be funnier if Gretzky were a bitter jerk about it but there’s really no reason to be, considering it’s not going to sniff his all-time points record.

Detroit Red Wings. A Calder Trophy for one of their standout rookies. If this team gets into the playoffs (not out of the question) Lucas Raymond or Moritz Seider should be the runaway rookie of the year favorites.

Originally this post had completely omitted the Senators (which I checked with the author and then they updated it). I thought it was because they weren’t allowed to say “new ownership” but that wasn’t it.
