Detroit is fun to watch again, folks!

I hope I can still say that tomorrow because after two straight fun wins, the Wings are going up against an Edmonton team that’s starting to look like it can live up to some promise. The Oilers are 9-1 on the season with a +17 goal differential. Their power play is at 50%

It’s no surprise they’re led by Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl. The addition of Zach Hyman seems to be working out decently well so far. Their numbers are probably inflated by the obscene power play success but their underlyings don’t suggest there’s anything terribly wrong. Depth should be a challenge for them throughout a long season, but that’s not a worry for a single game.

Blashill is going to have a challenge shutting down the top line without sacrificing their ability to score.
